Toulouse-Lautrec, "Snowman" 1897
- This is the cover of issue 129 of the satirical magazine "L'Ire", which was released every Saturday. The title of the painting is "Snowism", and although Toulouse-Lautrec also did back covers and interior illustrations, this was the first time he had done a cover for L'Ire, and it was issue 114.
The dialogue written underneath the painting reads: "Jeanne, could you please take your wallet from your left coat pocket without anyone seeing it?"
"And what happened after that?"
"When it's time to pay, hand me your wallet as if it were yours."
This work will not be a booklet, but will have a linen-lined cover.
