- This is the cover of issue 114 of the satirical magazine "L'Ire", which was released every Saturday. Toulouse-Lautrec also did back covers and interior illustrations, but this and "Snobism" were the only covers he designed for L'Ire.
The dialogue written underneath the painting reads: "Hey, you're modest, aren't you?"
"Yes, ma'am, but I've been with someone."
