The back also features advertisements for cognac (brandy), shaving cream, and ovens.
René Gruau was an Italian painter and designer who was active mainly in Paris. He specialized in fashion illustrations and advertising, and his works were mainly published in magazines.
He is also famous as an advertising designer for Dior, and worked on the first perfume, Miss Dior.
