This is a vintage advertisement for the Scandal Girdle that appeared in the French magazine Paris Match in 1952.

It depicts a woman wearing black underwear against a red background.

The back side is the cover of Paris Match, featuring a photograph of Princess Charlotte of Belgium (later known as Joséphine-Charlotte, Grand Duchess of Luxembourg).

René Gruau was an Italian painter and designer who was active mainly in Paris. He specialized in fashion illustrations and advertising, and his works were mainly published in magazines.
He is also famous as an advertising designer for Dior, and worked on the first perfume, Miss Dior.
