This work features a striking illustration from the opening page and verso of "The Priory School" from Arthur Conan Doyle's 1904 collection of short stories, "The Return of Sherlock Holmes."
A dramatic scene in which Holmes and Watson support their client, Dr. Huxtable, who has fainted and collapsed.
Artist Sidney Paget's brush quietly but vividly captures on paper the sense of tension at the beginning of the story and the characters' inner thoughts.
It is a rare page that combines the title page and illustration, and is a piece that allows you to physically feel the aftertaste of Holmes's reappearance.
There is no printing on the back other than the illustrations.
